Kinship

Kinship is an acclaimed Chef Eric Ziebold’s restaurant. The restaurant is located on the first floor of 1015 Seventh Street NW in a historic brick building dating back to 1907. A second restaurant, Métier, opened in the bi-level space shortly after, offers a seven-course tasting menu. Both restaurants commit themselves to offering creative and contemporary American cuisine with a continued dedication to hospitality. Kinship is Chef Ziebold’s vision of what the modern American restaurant can be and offers an à la carte menu celebrating the rich diversity of influences that have come to shape American cuisine. The restaurant offers 59 seats plus a 12 seat bar with a lounge area and fireplace. The restaurants have been designed by Darryl Carter, a Washington D.C. native and a leader in the design world, recognized for his restrained, distinguished, and livable environments. Darryl has played a key role in defining the personality of the restaurants from day one, making design elements intimately woven with the experience Eric wants to provide their guests and giving the historic nature of the space a second life. Antique materials and furniture pieces are mingling with modern details to create an elegant yet warm and comfortable atmosphere.
